Twilight is the story of two teenagers, Isabella Swan, a normal seventeen-year-old girl and Edward Cullen, a very handsome boy with supernatural gifts who manages to hold himself rather aloof from everybody else, to keep his dark secret hidden, a secret that Bella is determined to uncover. It's a fun book to get lost in.
Plot
Twilight is a compelling story of two teenagers’ romance at high school. When Bella´s parents divorce she is a toddler. Later she moves to rainy Forks, leaving her mother and stepfather behind in sunny Arizona. Her annual visits to her father, the chief of police in gloomy Forks, have always been more of a torture than a treat, so she doesn’t expect to like it; however Bella soon makes some new friends at school and realizes that life in Forks is a revelation when she meets Edward Cullen, an irresistible and accomplished young gentleman with golden eyes. Edward saves her life when a truck is about to hit her and soon both characters are bound up in a love affair.
Characters
The author describes Edward Cullen as a mysterious character, a dazzlingly handsome boy whose love for Bella alternates between interest and a sort of fury. When Bella notices that the colour of his eyes changes, she begins to ask questions about Edward and his mysterious family. Although the Cullens manage to control their blood-lust and only hunt animals, the craving for human blood never leaves Edward. Bella soon finds out they are a sophisticated and wealthy family of vampires but surprisingly it changes nothing for her.
Highlights
Twilight is quite different to other vampire romance novels; it is unique in its genre. Stephenie Meyer tells the story in the first person from Bella’s perspective. The mystery described by the author is slowly unravelled throughout the book.
Twilight is a very descriptive and beautifully written novel and despite being quite long, once you start reading, you can’t put it down.

Quórum ha elegido esta obra del autor catalán Carlos Ruíz Zafón por razones bien justificadas.
La primera de ellas viene determinada por el perfil del estudiante extranjero que acude a nuestro centro. En segundo término, por el uso que el autor hace de la lengua española, ya que utiliza un léxico riquísimo y ampliamente vanguardista que sitúa al estudiante extranjero en el uso del español propio de nuestro tiempo. Por último, la trama de esta gran obra no deja lugar a dudas, es una garantía de que el lector permanecerá “enganchado” hasta el final de la misma, siendo éste el principal objetivo de Quórum.
El interés que el libro ha suscitado en Alemania ha decantado claramente su elección, orientada, por razones obvias, hacia el estudiante alemán. No obstante, resulta una obra igualmente atractiva y enriquecedora para ingleses, franceses y demás estudiantes de distinta procedencia.
“La Sombra del Viento” desde su publicación en el 2001, se ha convertido en un best-seller mundial. Aclamada por la crítica como “una de las grandes revelaciones literarias de los últimos tiempos” hace altamente recomendable su lectura.
Se desarrolla en Barcelona en la primera mitad del siglo XX.
Su principal personaje, Daniel, nos transporta a una Barcelona gótica sumida en la revolución industrial que evoluciona hasta los años posteriores a la guerra civil española.
La trama, inteligentemente descriptiva, te envuelve desde el primer momento, presentando a una serie de personajes bien diferenciados y atractivos, tanto por su estilo como por el léxico utilizado.
Su intriga, suspense, humor, romanticismo, historia, etc., mágicamente entrelazados por el autor, despierta en el lector todo tipo de sentimientos.
Todo ello hace sumamente aconsejable su lectura, en la que, sin duda alguna, el alumno descubrirá un mundo fascinante.
